Dust Landing Guide
Welcome, new residents of Dust! If you’re dreaming of settling down and building your own base in this unforgiving world, let’s be real - survival here is no walk in the park. The moment you spawn, you only have 30% energy left, and every step toward building a safe haven needs strategy, effort, and a little bit of luck. From chopping wood and crafting tools to farming for resources, every task matters. But don’t worry—bitly has your back with a set of in-game tools to turn your "survivor" status into "base owner." Let’s break down exactly how to make it happen.
Step 1: Locate/Respawn to Bitly City (Your Survival Starting Point)
First things first—you need to get close to bitly city to kickstart your base-building. And the bitly exchange in-game app is your compass here:
- Open the bitly exchange app in your in-game menu.
- Head to the "City Detail" section - here, you’ll see the exact location of the city. Click "Set Waypoint" to mark it on your map; this will keep you from getting lost. (Want to know more about Bitly City? Check out the full intro here)
- If you’re too far: Your 30% initial energy might not last the trip. No panic - you can respawn directly to Bitly City:
- First, buy $BET tokens in the bitly exchange app (Check the User Manual before you start trading). How many? Just check the "Spawn Section" in "City Detail" - it’ll show you the recommended amount.
- Once you’ve purchased the $BET tokens (⚠️ remember to withdraw tokens to your wallet at first⚠️), go back to the "Spawn Section" and select "Respawn to Bitly City." Done - you’re now in a safe zone to gear up.
Step 2: Buy Supplies & Build Your Base (From Zero to Hero)
Now that you’re in a good spot, it’s time to gather (well, buy) the right items and build your base - step by step, no shortcuts.
Step 2.1: Buy Essential Items in Bitly Exchange
First, stock up on these items (Note: There’s transaction fees for each market order so you need to buy 1% more tokens to claim a complete item in game):
- JungleLog × 1
- Stone × 45
- Sand × 2
- IronBar × 1
- Battery × 1
Then, claim them as they are tokenized items named VWA (virtual world asset), following the guide to claim them as in-game items.
Step 2.2: Pick the Perfect Spot
Find an empty piece of land—never build inside someone else’s forcefield. Look for a flat area with enough space for your workbench, furnace, and forcefield.
- Note: You can check if there’s already been put a forcefeild where you stand on: If there’s a batteryicon in map overlay, you cannot make your base here.

- Note: You can also check the current Forcefeild area within Force Fields Mapfrom game menu. Pick a blank area to set up your base!

- Note: Never mine the forcefeild machine you placed! It will cost enormous energy that may cause you die.
Step 2.3: Craft & Build (Follow the Recipe!)
Now let’s turn those raw materials into your base. Follow these exact crafting steps:
- Make JunglePlanks & Workbench:
JungleLog (1) → JunglePlanks (4) (use your in-game crafting menu)
Then, use 4 JunglePlanks to craft 1 Workbench. Place the Workbench on the ground—this is your main crafting station.
- Build a Furnace:
Use 9 Stones to craft 1 Furnace (you can do this directly from your inventory, no workbench needed). The Furnace will help with future resource processing!
- Craft a Powerstone:
Combine 6 Stones + 2 Sand to make 1 Powerstone.
- Build Your ForceField:
Head to your Workbench, then combine 30 Stones + 1 IronBar to craft 1 ForceField. Place it around the area where you want your base - this will keep your land safe from others.
- Energize the ForceField:
Take your Battery and use it on the ForceField. Once it’s powered up - congrats! You’ve officially set up your base and claimed your own land in Dust.
What’s Next? Keep Your Base Thriving!
Building the base is just the start—here’s how to keep it running and make it feel like home:
- Build a Bed: Craft a bed (you’ll need more logs later!) - sleeping in it lets you retain energy even when you’re offline. No more spawning again and again!
- Add a Spawn Tile: Craft a spawn tile and place it in your base. This way, if you die or need to respawn, you’ll come right back to your safe zone (no more trekking back from Bitly City!).
- Keep Resources Flowing: Chop more logs or leaves, and craft extra batteries. Don’t forget - your ForceField needs regular recharging! Set a reminder to top it up so you don’t lose your land (You can check the energy and the drain rate of the forcefield by right click on the forcefield).

- Decorate: Add walls, windows, or even a small garden. Make your base feel unique - this is your home in Dust, after all!
- Explore: Once your base is secure, grab your tools and venture out. Discover new areas, find rare resources, and see what else Dust has to offer.
Surviving in Dust takes grit, but with this guide, you’ve got everything you need to go from a new spawn to a base owner. Now go out there, build, and make your mark - Dust is waiting for your legacy!
